Hampden Roar

October 30, 2017

On 5th October I was lucky enough to be at Hampden Park to see Scotland beat Slovakia 1-0 in a World Cup Qualifier. Unfortunately the result in Slovenia the following Sunday meant our long wait to qualify for a major tournament continued, but at Hampden and the surrounding areas I did manage to capture some sounds for my sound design library.

Being such an important game, the atmosphere inside the ground was electric. Glasgow City Centre was also buzzing in anticipation and heaving with supporters.

I started to collect some recordings in the pubs near the city centre, then on the way to the stadium and finally in the stadium itself during the match.

These recordings were then used for a project I was working on entitled Community.
